I MEANT

"Its" not "It's."

It's a typo. See what I did there. Correctly used.

Airplane Conversation

I sat next to an eight year old boy and his ten year old brother on my flight home. I had my headphones on and noticed them whispering to each other, possibly about me.

The younger one tapped me on the shoulder and I removed my headphones. Here is our one and only conversation....

BOY: What's your name?

ME: Jon

BOY: Oh.

Pause

BOY: You look like my counselor from camp this summer.

Pause

ME: Oh, really? What was his name?

BOY: Alan.

Pause

ME: Oh, well...he's not me. (smile)

BOY: I know.

ME: Yeah.

Awkward pause....

Headphones back on.

Quite a week that was...

What a week. I became 28 during it. Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday well wishes and to everyone who came to celebrate in person. It was a lot of fun. 'Twas a nice way to start off being 2-8. I've officially outlived such people as, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and Jimmy Hendrix. I'm also the same age my parents were when they had me. Thanks to the lovely group that made a big batch of cupcakes for everyone. I don't feel as though I thanked you all enough for that. Some other presents that I received were: a piece of rope, a bird magnet with flappy wings, a People magazine, a pornographic magazine, two new pillows, a bar of soap, a pig key chain, paints and new brushes, and a picture of a bear.

Also, last Wednesday was The Rejection Show. A little too hot and a little too long but other than that it was a great time. The performers were terrific. They had a great sense of what the show is all about. Thanks to Lang, Todd, Jessi, Marisa, Mort, Diffee, Adam, Peter, Bob, and Matt. The audience was enthusiastic and supportive. I can't ask for anything more than that. Thanks to Azalea for getting up and singing "Hello" by Lionel Richie for us. She kept going even though someone actually yelled out to me, "Please make her stop." It was a good time and we'll continue to try our best to improve on each show.

This is the most bloggiest blog entry I have ever blogged.

Things to avoid...

Avoid taking a sip of apple cider while also drinking hot coffee. The body does not like this combination and will want to get rid of it quickly. It will say things like, "No, no Jon. Don't drink that while you're drinking that." and "Hey these don't mix. Here it comes!"

This Monday, it's comedy night: "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Stay at home like a bum this Monday night, and you'll be alone. No, you owe it to yourself to make the trek down to DEKK on March 7 to see some genuine comedy. We promise you hysterics in both improv and stand-up forms. Enjoy the week before Spring Break. Because it's only Monday. You could use a few laughs."
